Birdhouse with Blue Roof Limoges Box

A tidy birdhouse topped with a blue roof waits for its first tenants in this hand-painted porcelain Limoges box. It was made in Limoges, France, and it brings a bit of backyard birdsong indoors.

Vacancy for Songbirds

Hanging a birdhouse is a small act of hope that every gardener understands. The blue roof and the little house beneath it are painted by hand, so the shade of blue and the fine details vary slightly from one box to the next.

A Nest for Every Occasion

This makes a warm housewarming gesture for a family moving into their first home, and a fitting thank-you for an Audubon volunteer or a master gardener. It is also a sweet nod to a new nest, whether that means a newly married couple or new grandparents. Bird watchers who keep binoculars by the kitchen window will understand it at once.

Place it on a sunroom shelf, a windowsill overlooking the feeder or a garden themed curio, where it looks ready to welcome the first wren of spring.
