Burgundy Table Lamp Figurine Limoges Box

A burgundy table lamp with its bulb in place has been turned into a porcelain figurine box, painted by hand in Limoges, France. It looks ready to light a reading nook, though it is purely decorative and does not switch on.

A Glow Without the Wiring

A table lamp is one of those everyday things we only notice when it is beautiful. Here the rich burgundy base, the shade and the little bulb are all painted by hand, so the depth of color and fine details vary slightly from one box to the next.

Room by Room

This is a charming addition to a miniature furniture or dollhouse style collection, sitting easily beside armchairs, writing desks and clocks. It suits an interior designer, a lighting shop owner, or a friend who just moved in and furnished the place lamp by lamp. It also makes a playful housewarming present.

Lighting the Way

• Hand-painted porcelain figurine box from Limoges, France
• A fit for a home, furniture or interior design collection
• Decorative only, with no wiring or working light

From Clay to Color

Many Limoges boxes are painted by hand after the white porcelain is fired, and their metal mounts are fitted by hand too. That patient sequence lets a deep shade like this burgundy settle evenly onto the porcelain.
