About that name. “Jungle Green” has an actual military service record — it’s what the British Army dyed its uniforms for the Burma campaign — but this custom lot has been honorably discharged. On white linen it’s really the green of an orchard in late May: fresh, leafy, entirely unthreatening, the kind of green that makes a bedroom feel like it opens onto a garden even when it opens onto an air shaft.

And now the part I couldn’t have invented: we have exactly nine yards of Lot J66951 B. Which means that for once in your life, you can have the whole nine yards — literally. Etymologists have brawled for decades over where that phrase comes from (machine-gun belts, cement mixers, the fabric in a full Scottish kilt) and never settled it. Here the answer is finally simple: it’s Lysette, it’s this lot, and when it sells, the question closes forever.
