Dog in Doghouse Porcelain Limoges Box

A loyal dog keeps watch from the doorway of his own little house, with his chain trailing out into the yard. This porcelain Limoges box is painted by hand in Limoges, France, and it captures the family pet on guard duty.

Home Sweet Doghouse

Every neighborhood seems to have one dog who prefers his own front porch to the sofa. The little house, the chain and the alert pup in the doorway are all brushed in by hand, which gives each box its own slight variations in color and expression.

Who Will Grin at It

This is a natural pick for the person whose dog runs the household. Veterinarians, groomers, dog walkers and kennel owners tend to appreciate it, and it is a kind way to remember a dog who has passed on. It pairs well with doghouse signs, leash hooks and other pet pieces already on display.

Fetching Spots to Show It

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Looks right beside a framed pet photo on a desk or mantel
• Fits a dog, pet or backyard themed collection

Small enough to sit on a nightstand, it brings a little of that faithful watchdog spirit indoors, where he can guard your rings and earrings instead of the back gate.
