Orchard Pear Shaped Porcelain Limoges Box

A rounded bottom and narrow neck give this porcelain pear its gentle, unmistakable shape. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box made in Limoges, France, and it looks as though it was picked fresh from an orchard branch.

Picked at Its Peak

Pears have a quiet grace that has made them a favorite of still life painters for centuries. This miniature carries that same calm beauty to a shelf. Its curved silhouette is easy to recognize and pleasing to hold, and it fits naturally into a kitchen or dining room setting.

Sideboard Still Life

Set it on a dining room sideboard, a kitchen ledge or in a bowl beside real fruit for a little visual trick. It makes a thoughtful housewarming present, a thank you for a neighbor with a backyard fruit tree or a fall birthday token. Cooks who love poached pears and pear tarts will smile at a fruit that never bruises.
